I am officially a masters alumni, I never thought that I would finish the program in the time that I did or for that matter be in the masters program. I guess humble and modest beginnings can amount to things when we set out minds to it. Today I had a moment to think back and see where I have been and what I have done to place me where I am today and I must say, God is definitely blessed me with great people around me and a positive environment from which to succeed.
In '95-96 I was working as a QA inspector in a tuna line, very nice, if you like going to the bank to cash a check and people smell you in line and you can't tell the difference since you are used to the smell. Or going into a hot oven to retrieve painted bolts for $5.50/hour.
I have never ever received anything that was not mine and I guess that is why I do not appreciate, kickbacks and hand-greasing as a system in the work environment. I will scratch your back as a friend but not as your token.
My dad's Birthday is today and the ol' guy is 69 years old, born March 4, 1939 in a small pueblo in Michoacan my dad worked in the fields in California as a hired hand for seasonal work and took an under the table job loading and unloading container trucks in 1962, and finally getting full time work 1969. He worked there until he retired in 2004, after 35 years.
The work ethic is there and he supported us through this time and while it might seem too small a phase, I genuinely say Thank you, Pops for giving the basics like food, and shelter.

Gray Monday
Well, I was unable to make it to work but something did happen that was good, the city came by and picked up the leaves. It only took 3 calls and 2 emails to make it happen, but at least it worked. Monday class was good the quiz we had was facil but I hope the instructor is good with reading chicken scratch because that is the only way I write since the invention of the computer. The writing has been getting worse, at some point I will be so dependant on the computer that I will just have a wheel chair like that of Steven Hawkins.

Pasadena Palms leaves to be desired
Man, I am officially a complainer, or a tax payer who wants people to do their "damn job", after the rains and wind my street was littered with palm leaves and the city has not even came by to pick them up, I have called them twice and nothing. I guess when I pay $5K a year I would like to see that they are doing their job and making sure that the citizens are taken care of, what a pipe dream that is, I guess when people start taking for granted the tasks of the city worker, when they do not do it, it really affects the comfort level of all city people. I guess it like the joke: the the human body having an internal discussion about who is the boss and all the body parts explain why they should be the boss and what havoc they would cause if they were not part of the whole. The joke ends with the a**hole shutting down because it believes it is the most important part and the body begins to fall apart due to internal contamination. The joke is "we believe that we are important but the a**hole is always the boss". The point is we are the mercy of a**hole city workers and personnel to do what we should take for granted. The reason why I say that is because I flagged the city workers while they were passing by and pointed at the leaves, which they were collecting anyways, they saw me and just went around the block and left, true A$$holes.

The New Year is here
Well, what is new in 2-0-0-8 well like many people would say, "same ol' crap" but I have to differ in 2008, I have made a list of things that will change for me as well as things that I will need to change for starters here is a list:
Things that will change
1. I will graduate with my MBA
2. I will have more time
3. I will need to do somethings around the house
Things that I will change:
1. I will lose weight
2. I will spend more time with the dog
3. I will get a new truck
The new year brings people to understand that while we may try to change the world we can still only do what is immediately possible.
Hope all of you had a joyous new year and many more good times in the year to come.

Time for this creature to nest
Well I finally did it, I am officially engaged. I had been planning to give my girlfriend, who is now my fiance, the engagement ring since Thanksgiving but for reasons out of my control I had to postpone for Christmas. She had been asking me, "What did you get me for Christmas", and kept saying," Vitamins", she would respond, " I didn't really want to know what you gave me, but are you serious?", I would respond, "Yes, I am, but the true gift and the element of surprise is that you don't know what type of vitamins you are getting? They could multi's, chewables, Triple Flex, the odds are endless?" This did not please her at all. Then Christmas Day at midnight all the kids opened their presents and I gave Jennifer a bag with tissue paper and vitamins inside. I had told my sister to get the camera because she would like to take a picture of this, then she opened her bag and pulled out a vitamin bottle, which she happily accepted and said,"Vitamins? How nice? Thank You," oh to be mind reader at that time would have been great, there would have been more expletives in a row that would definitely get me and my lineage banished from blogging for at least 3 to 4 generations. Well, I kept encouraging her to pull out more bottles of vitamins and when she was near the end, I pulled out the ring and before my family asked her to marry me, which she said, "Yes, I will marry you!" and with those words, I move into another phase of my life. Oh, and Kobe likes her as well.

Class over for week 5
I have not been writing lately and that is because I have been either too occupied with UOP MBA or out playing with the dog and seeing what is going on, it does not mean that I have been thinking about all of you but that I have not had somethings of interest to share. Well Kobe is now going on 11 months and has grown into a big dog, big puppy, he still likes being chased around and being able to hold him down is now my big thing to do to him. The little guy tries to push me off of him but I just use the dead weight method and just lie there until he can no longer resist and have to let him go. I did that last night and I just about died from the laughter of he not being able to push me off. I also chased him around with the newspaper to slap him on the tail but that guy is fast and a trickster. He changes speeds on me so I can not anticipate where he is going to be moving to next. I am now 7 classes away from the degree and I am scheduled to finish in March 7, 2008. I do not know what I will do next but for sure I need to do something, can't just stay home and watch TV, maybe I'll go back to the gym and take some of this weight off, who knows.
I am thinking about going to USC for MSME.

It has been a while
Sometimes things that start off to good tend to fizzle, kinda like a relationship, if it starts off too hot the temperature can not stay hot forever so it tends to fall off, but I am not saying that this media is like a woman or anything, ewww that is gross. But in any case, for the past month I have been concentrating on my school work and things of that nature, so I apologize for not keeping you up to date with what's goin' on. In the recent days I have noticed that Kobe is a dog in all sense of the word, I took him to the dog park and he did his usual sniffing around and then he tried to mount on 2 different occasions, a chocolate lab and a yellow lab, man this guy is pimp, but in actuality it was embarrassing. I had to take Kobe for a walk around the Rose Bowl instead. The school work has been a little tough in that I have to keep up with the reading and investigate organizations that I am not to familiar with. I have updated my flickr account so if anyone wants to see it they can check it out at the same name, Serginator1. Well off to study I will go now, I will try to not be far in between updates.
