I am officially a masters alumni, I never thought that I would finish the program in the time that I did or for that matter be in the masters program. I guess humble and modest beginnings can amount to things when we set out minds to it. Today I had a moment to think back and see where I have been and what I have done to place me where I am today and I must say, God is definitely blessed me with great people around me and a positive environment from which to succeed.
In '95-96 I was working as a QA inspector in a tuna line, very nice, if you like going to the bank to cash a check and people smell you in line and you can't tell the difference since you are used to the smell. Or going into a hot oven to retrieve painted bolts for $5.50/hour.
I have never ever received anything that was not mine and I guess that is why I do not appreciate, kickbacks and hand-greasing as a system in the work environment. I will scratch your back as a friend but not as your token.
My dad's Birthday is today and the ol' guy is 69 years old, born March 4, 1939 in a small pueblo in Michoacan my dad worked in the fields in California as a hired hand for seasonal work and took an under the table job loading and unloading container trucks in 1962, and finally getting full time work 1969. He worked there until he retired in 2004, after 35 years.
The work ethic is there and he supported us through this time and while it might seem too small a phase, I genuinely say Thank you, Pops for giving the basics like food, and shelter.

Gray Monday
Well, I was unable to make it to work but something did happen that was good, the city came by and picked up the leaves. It only took 3 calls and 2 emails to make it happen, but at least it worked. Monday class was good the quiz we had was facil but I hope the instructor is good with reading chicken scratch because that is the only way I write since the invention of the computer. The writing has been getting worse, at some point I will be so dependant on the computer that I will just have a wheel chair like that of Steven Hawkins.

Pasadena Palms leaves to be desired
Man, I am officially a complainer, or a tax payer who wants people to do their "damn job", after the rains and wind my street was littered with palm leaves and the city has not even came by to pick them up, I have called them twice and nothing. I guess when I pay $5K a year I would like to see that they are doing their job and making sure that the citizens are taken care of, what a pipe dream that is, I guess when people start taking for granted the tasks of the city worker, when they do not do it, it really affects the comfort level of all city people. I guess it like the joke: the the human body having an internal discussion about who is the boss and all the body parts explain why they should be the boss and what havoc they would cause if they were not part of the whole. The joke ends with the a**hole shutting down because it believes it is the most important part and the body begins to fall apart due to internal contamination. The joke is "we believe that we are important but the a**hole is always the boss". The point is we are the mercy of a**hole city workers and personnel to do what we should take for granted. The reason why I say that is because I flagged the city workers while they were passing by and pointed at the leaves, which they were collecting anyways, they saw me and just went around the block and left, true A$$holes.

The New Year is here
Well, what is new in 2-0-0-8 well like many people would say, "same ol' crap" but I have to differ in 2008, I have made a list of things that will change for me as well as things that I will need to change for starters here is a list:
Things that will change
1. I will graduate with my MBA
2. I will have more time
3. I will need to do somethings around the house
Things that I will change:
1. I will lose weight
2. I will spend more time with the dog
3. I will get a new truck
The new year brings people to understand that while we may try to change the world we can still only do what is immediately possible.
Hope all of you had a joyous new year and many more good times in the year to come.
